Jonni Mitchell has written about his works on display at Delicious Artspace: “Sometimes we need to stop and look around in order to see what really surrounds us. It’s important that every now and then something persuades us not to just pass things by unthinkingly as we usually do”. His works play with the perceptual capacity and invite us to pause. In his latest works, Mitchell is interested in the analysis of himself. Starting point of the series «My seven deadly insecurities» was a photo that shows him 15 years ago in Barcelona. In the thinking of himself and who he was then and who he is today, he realises how much more understanding he has for himself now. Important is the insight that he can face his demons and insecurities which are confusing and frustrating and that there is a way to turn those insecurities into something positive. He hereby experiments with new colours and shapes in order to find an expression for the complexitiy of those feelings and to build a balance between the ‚at the time’ and the ‚now’.

Jonni Mitchell, born in 1971 in London, studied at the College of Print in London and has lived and worked in Berlin since 2000.
