The works of Fehmi Baumbach explore the nature of living space, with startling results: her tender portraits depict stories and relationships between radios and houseplants or television sets. With playful strokes and great warmth, she brings to paper the stories of things. In Baumbach's interiors, bored sofas meet inquisitive wine glasses, TV-addict floor lamps encounter sinuous chairs. Her pictures show us what the objects we live with get up to after we've left the room.

Fehmi Baumbach was born in 1971 in Braunschweig and studied Liberal Arts at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Braunschweig, majoring in painting. She has lived and worked in Berlin since 1996.
