Each year since 1998, Sasha Haettenschweiler has created
a five- to seven-piece beachwear collection under the name «Wet
Glam». Her collections include bikinis and swimming costumes, and
also shorts, skirts and a wide range of T-shirts. While art invokes its
own artificiality, and is emphasised in the context of the artificial,
its character as a commodity is evident. In the fashion display at Delicious
Artspace – a space for art – this notion has been taken one
step further. The shop windows and display cases of the gallery have been
brought to life and have allowed the people and clothing in the displays
to become, for one night, objets d’art. The fashion items on display
were for sale, and so temporarily transformed Delicious Artspace into
a boutique.
Sasha Haettenschweiler is a fashion designer and graphic
designer, and has been designing her own collections since 1995. She lives
and works in Zurich.
