Artists information

Video artist Daniela Härle edits film material into colourful, dreamlike visuals, using existing material and sometimes films that has already been worked on. In her looped video films, she tries to lead the spectator astray through unusual compositions. The actual television set, i.e. the monitor and its casing, is transformed into a sculpture – the images or films step out of the frame of the appliance and lead lives of their own that are unconstrained by the fetters of time.

Daniela Härle, born in Berlin in 1965, studied textile design at the Chelsea School of Art in London. She has been working with video art and monitor installations since 1995. She lives and works in Berlin.
